They started by wrecking a variety of squirrel proof bird feeders before we introduced some squirrel feeders for them to enjoy and now they leave the rest alone.

Because they don't hibernate through the winter they provide us with endless days of entertainment. They seem to enjoy whatever we put down to feed them, from nuts, seeds, cereals, bread to fruit, fat and even birthday cake!

We had about three of them that came up to the back door as soon as they saw you and begged for hazelnuts. One baby squirrel even managed to get into the 'squirrel proof' bird feeder and ate all the seed and then took a couple of hours before it managed to get out again! We've since bought a new feeder with much smaller openings so it can't happen again.
