Bird Watch Events

We run a bird watch for an hour and a half every Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter round Ruislip Lido to see how many different bird species we can spot and also participate in a full days walking in a race bird watch event. Some of the photos are opposite and full details are below.

One and a half hour walk round Ruislip Lido

Hillingdon AC had an hour and half bird species watch round the Ruislip Lido in April. A beautiful, sunny morning. Click here to see the results.

All day bird watch walk

Results from the Annual Bird Watch Race 2007
On the 2nd of December Hillingdon AC had a friendly competition with the Hillingdon Natural History Society and the Ruislip and District NHS to see how many different bird species they could see in one day. The HNHS do this every year and have teams that use cars to go from place to place to see how many birds they can spot. Their results will follow shortly. Hillingdon AC just use their feet and walk all day! We saw 56 different species whilst walking for 10 hours. Final scores were RDNHS 62 species seen and 2 heard, HAC 56 seen and HNHS 51 species seen. Click here for our full results and here for the RDNHS and HNHS results.
