We run a bird watch for an hour and a half every Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter round Ruislip Lido to see how many different bird species we can spot and also participate in a full days walking in a race bird watch event. Some of the photos are opposite and full details are below.

Winter Bird watch round the Lido on Sunday 6th of December 2009
Hillingdon AC had an hour and a half bird species watch round the Ruislip Lido. The weather was dreadful with hard rain coming straight at you all morning and making the birds shelter and the binoculars mist up but we battled on!

Annual Bird Watch Race 2009
We participate in a full days walk round Ruislip, Harefield, Stockers Lake etc in a race against the Hillingdon Natural History Society and the Ruislip and District NHS to see how many different bird species we can spot in a day. They travel by car from place to place but we walk the whole day and the results are always interesting.

Unfortunately we were unable to do the walk this year but look forward to doing it again in 2010. Results of previous ones can be seen here.
