To stop the squirrels destroying the bird feeders (even the squirrel proof ones!) we bought special squirrel feeders that you can put nuts etc in. The squirrels love using them and are great fun to watch especially when the nuts get very low down in the feeders and they almost have to get into the box to get them out! The best benefit is they leave the bird feeders alone now.

Videos 3 to 5
We put chicken pieces down for the foxes for special treats and it guarantees a good fox watch! When the cubs are around you can expect to see up to three foxes at once feeding together. They don't seem to mind the sensor lights coming on when they approach which is great for us to view them by.

If you put large pieces of food down they usually just grab as much as possible and run off to cache it and then come back for more. If you want a good fox watch you need to cut up some of the food very small to make them eat it on site first.
